Product Description
This epoxy coated cast iron vertical Z plate strainer is used in applications where a turbine or Compound meter that is above 2" in diameter is being utilized. It must be installed upstream of the meter and max working pressure is 150PSI. They are for potable, cold water systems and are used to screen any debris that gets in the line and can cause damage to expensive metering equipment. Foreign objects that can be caused by maintenance in the system or from scale build up over time can cause severe damage to metering equipment. This strainer also improves the nature of the flow through the meter and will minimize any turbulence before it goes into the meter. The impact a strainer has, can maximize the meter's accuracy and longevity. It's best to make sure the top plate is accessible for removal during maintenance and cleaning of the stainless steel strainer screen. Strainers meet or exceed AWWA/ASME/ANSI class 150 standards and are approved by NSF/ANSI 61 and 372.
