Product Description
This is an updated version of the NCTR wireless, battery operated transceiver meant for use with our Complete Remote Water Metering Systems. This NEW transceiver boasts up to 3 times longer range than its predecessor. It simply attaches to a pulse or encoded meter and sends a wireless signal to a Next Century Gateway.
The battery will last approximately 10 years (dependent on operating temperature and check in settings) and can be replaced with a CR18505 3V Lithium Battery (the system will alert you to low battery status). Once connected to the system, the data will be sent every 6 hours. This time frame is adjustable from the default to anywhere between hourly to once every 24 hours).
It is meant for indoor installation with temperatures between -4˚F to 140˚F. For outdoor installations, which can greatly increase the range in multi-building systems such as Mobile Home Parks, the NCTR4-ENC enclosure is needed to protect the transceiver from the elements. You can easily add this as an accessory above. 
Another option is the NCTR4-X which IS weatherproof right out of the box.
Another option is to use the RR4-TR which is a digital display AND transceiver which is also weatherproof and can be installed outdoors. It can handle ONE or TWO meters.
